The Melbourne Eastlink project is a great consolidation of Normoyles key competencies. Incorporating elements of aesthetical design, design for manufacture, design for assembly and design for transportation, Normoyle managed to successfully turn nothing more than an architectural dream into a 47 meter work of genius. Constructing four 47 meter by 11 meter wide three-dimensional facades in Sydney and transporting them to Melbourne for erection took a great deal of sophisticated planning and was implemented without a single hitch. The facade was constructed from a galvanized frame, a pattern applied in the form of powder coated aluminum and a three dimensional stainless steel floral element was layered over the top allowing lights to shine from behind. The structure, which has been said to be the greatest complement to Australia's most expensive roadway allowed Normoyle to once again thrive in the civil arena.
